Feb 8th, 2020 - Dillon MacIntyre performs with the LA Opera for a world premiere of their newly commissioned work, Eurydice. Composer Matthew Aucoin partners with playwright Sarah Ruhl for a new opera that reimagines ancient mythology for a modern age. This time, the tale unfolds from the heroine's point of view. Tragically killed on her wedding day, a young bride descends into the underworld, where she reconnects with her adoring father. Santa Barbara Symphony: NYE Pops
December 31st, 2019 - The Santa Barbara Symphony rings in 2020 in style with New Year’s Eve Pops – Women Rock, at the Granada Theatre. Guest pops conductor Bob Bernhardt returns for this New Year’s Eve tradition, alongside Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Cassidy Catanzaro, Brie Cassil, and Tamika Lawrence. The audience will enjoy a champagne toast and party favors while listening to a program of hits from some of the most famous female rock vocalists including Carole King, Tina Turner, and Aretha Franklin. L.A. Brass Spectacular: Hearts of music fund
December 15th, 2019 - It's the most wonderful time of the year - the 15th annual L.A. Brass Spectacular! Join us for a night holiday music by the Trombones-L.A. trombone choir, arranged and conducted by Bill Reichenbach. Admission is free, there will also be a free-will offering to benefit The Hearts of Music Fund; a non-profit fund established to assist musicians with emergency medical needs. December 7th, 2019 - The Santa Barbara Symphony kicks off the holiday season with Holiday Pops for one night on Saturday, December 7 at 8:00PM. Led by Andy Einhorn, Musical Director for the Tony Award-winning revival of Hello Dolly!, the Symphony joins forces with Broadway star Christiane Noll and UCSB Choirs for a traditional, heart-warming and family-friendly holiday program. The program includes an audience sing-a-long of popular favorites with songs like “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” and “Frosty the Snowman,” with a full program of holiday classics like “Deck the Hall,” “Chanukah Lights” (Marvin Hamlisch), music from A Charlie Brown Christmas and The Sound of Music. Conducted by Nir Kabaretti and featuring violinist Francesca Dego, the first concert of the season opens with the overture to La Forza del Destino by the great Italian opera composer Giuseppe Verdi, with Niccolò Paganini’s demanding Violin Concerto No. 1 to follow. In addition to works from Italian composers, the program also includes pieces inspired by the beautiful country and culture of Italy, from composers Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Felix Mendelssohn. Performance will include a world premiere of Cinesthesia, a new chamber work for trombone and piano by composer Samantha Owens. NUSO ANNOUNCES 2018 ASIA TOUR
December 11, 2017 - Dillon MacIntyre will be performing in the Northwestern University Symphony Orchestra (NUSO) and traveling to Asia to perform concerts in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. The repertoire will include Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story and Mahler’s Symphony No. 5. Before departing for the tour, NUSO will premiere its concert program for the public at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, in Pick-Staiger Concert Hall on the Evanston campus. Tickets are $8 general admission and $5 for students. Tickets and more information are available on the Bienen School website.
